Job Summary: Block is focused on economic empowerment by building tools that enhance financial services accessibility and innovation. They are seeking a Senior Manager of Data Science to lead a team across Bitcoin, TIDAL, and internal AI products, driving product strategy through data-informed insights and collaboration with senior leaders. Responsibilities: Lead and develop a team of data scientists and analysts working across Bitcoin, TIDAL, and internal AI products. Shape product strategy through data-informed insights, experimentation, and modeling ranging from monetization analytics to machine learning for personalization. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior Product, Engineering, and Design partners translating data into compelling narratives and actionable decisions and executing on initiatives with company-wide impact. Guide technical approaches across analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, A/B testing/causal inference, and ML. Provide strong mentorship to elevate the team's capabilities. Partner cross-functionally with business leads across Block (TIDAL, Bitkey, Cash App, Square, and more) to define, measure, and accelerate growth. Bring rigor and clarity to complex, ambiguous problem spaces with a bias toward experimentation and iteration. Qualifications: Required: 12+ years of data science experience, including 5+ years managing data scientists and analysts, preferably in consumer-facing product or emerging technology environments. Proven success in leading data workstreams for early stage or 0-to-1 products. Experience working closely with product, engineering, and design teams to launch user-facing features and drive business impact. Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with data pipelines, dashboarding tools, and experimentation frameworks. Deep understanding of data foundations, hypothesis testing, and applied machine learning techniques. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to drive alignment through clear, data-driven storytelling. A strong interest in emerging technologies and innovationexperience with bitcoin products focused on making bitcoin everyday money through initiatives like: stablecoin infrastructure and interoperability, lightning network adoption and ux improvements, bitcoin banking and payment rails innovation. Preferred: Experience in consumer products and familiarity with crypto technologies is highly preferred.
