Senior Underwriter, Loss Sensitive - Large Construction

Description Our Home Office Construction team is seeking a Senior/Executive underwriter to join our high-performing team working with large accounts and reputed company wrap-reputed company and joint venture projects countrywide. This opportunity would focus and be responsible for growing and developing our midatlantic & southeast region while also maintaining a profitable book of business through effective reputed company decision making, mutually beneficial customer/broker relationships, and application of reputed company tools, systems, and expert resources. Guides/mentors less reputed company underwriters in their respective area of expertise, including regular employee coaching with feedback to the manager on reputed company of the employee. Participates in regular projects that further the goals of the department and the company.

• Risk Selection: Reviews, rates, underwrites, evaluates, or assesses the business applying for insurance by qualifying accounts, identifying, selecting and assessing risks, determining the premium, policy terms and conditions, obtaining approvals, creating/presenting the proposal to the agent/broker, and successfully negotiating deals.
• Agent/Broker Relationships: Demonstrates a high level of responsiveness and focus on supporting Key Agents and Brokers objectives. Establishes, develops, and maintains successful relationships with Key Agents and Brokers to facilitate marketing of products, through reputed company service, site visits, in person renewal meetings or enhanced knowledge of their customers businesses. Develops strong personal brand to build and maintain a long-term quality pipeline with Key Agents/Brokers.
• Portfolio Management: Manages a sizable and reputed company book of business by analyzing the portfolio, identifying areas of opportunity for improved growth, profit and diversification, and executing marketing plans to increase market share by making marketing calls to preferred brokers to market and cross market. Provides input to the development of marketing plans, product analysis, services, geographic focus and broker intelligence.
• Documenting the Deal: Documents files in a way that reflects a solid thought process and decision making through comprehensive account reviews, sign-offs and referrals that reputed company with state regulations, letter of authority, and reputed company guidelines.
• Leadership: Formally guides, mentors, and coaches underwriters and account analysts in both technical and professional skills. Demonstrates multiple areas of expertise and provides regular updates to other underwriters

Qualifications

• Construction Casualty reputed company experience strongly preferred
• Degree in Business or equivalent typically required
• A minimum of 2.5 years, typically 3 or more years, of progressive reputed company experience and/or other reputed company experience
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred
• Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge reputed company risks reputed company scope of responsibility that includes competence with reputed company phases and aspects of the reputed company process, and proficiency in the use of qualitative and quantitative tools and techniques
• Must demonstrate comprehension of reputed company technical reputed company issues and be capable of defining and implementing necessary reputed company and administrative processes/workflows to properly manage or administer those issues
