Developer Advocate

Clerk is a globally-distributed team dedicated to providing a best-in-class developer experience, with obsessive attention to every detail. Today, we provide developers with React components like , , and . These components allow developers to drop authentication, user management, and billing into their applications. We believe that a component is worth a thousand APIs.

As a Developer Advocate, you will build community trust and long-term brand strength through contributions to content, and community. In this role, you will experiment with:

• Creating and delivering technical content through video content or written materials that educates developers on feature releases, best practices, and advanced use cases.

• Embedding in developer communities to engage in broader technical conversations, educate developers on new features and use cases, and build authentic relationships.

• Representing Clerk at events including conferences, hackathons, and meetups, highlighting new product capabilities and gathering feedback on feature priorities while establishing meaningful connections with developers.

• Providing real-time technical support and guidance in community forums, Discord servers, and social platforms, while identifying opportunities to introduce relevant features that solve common developer pain points.

• Showcasing Clerk's engineering excellence and developer-first culture through live coding, demos, and technical discussions that demonstrate new features in practical, real-world scenarios.

• You have hands-on engineering experience building production applications, with strong competency in Next.js.

• You excel at building authentic relationships within developer communities through social presence, events, and meaningful engagement.

• You show strong empathy for developers and understand their pain points, workflows, and decision-making processes.

• You spike in either written or video content creation, with a portfolio demonstrating your ability to explain technical concepts.

• You are open to building real-world applications in public, demonstrating a “show-don't-tell” approach to developer advocacy.
