Key Responsibilities • Conduct outbound communications with patients and insurance representatives to facilitate prompt payment or payment arrangements. • Collaborate with various insurance providers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers, to address and resolve billing discrepancies. • Review and maintain patient account accuracy regarding billing and payment records. • Engage with patients to discuss options for resolving outstanding balances and establish feasible collection solutions. • Adhere to company policies and procedures in the collection of payments. Required Skills • Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with patients and insurance providers. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications. • Familiarity with EPIC and insurance payer portals for claims processing. • Strong comprehension of payer contracts and medical terminology. • Capable of crafting effective appeals when necessary. Qualifications • A minimum of 3 years of experience in hospital collections is required. • Knowledge of hospital billing procedures, particularly within California healthcare systems. • Demonstrated experience utilizing EPIC and payer portals for claims and payment processing.
