Job Description:In-Store Order Picker As we continue to expand our Prime Now program, delivering exceptional grocery delivery services to our customers remains a top priority for Whole Foods Market. You'll play a crucial role as an In-Store Shopper by supporting the Store Support team in fulfilling Prime Now customer orders. You'll be selecting and preparing items for delivery or collection, including everyday items such as groceries and household items. Our ability to cater to our customers' requirements is enhanced by having a flexible working schedule. We are searching for Team Members who are open to working on weekends, particularly Saturdays and Sundays, when there is typically a high volume of traffic. We would prefer to hire Shoppers who are available for work during odd hours like nights and holidays. Availability Requirements: • Three weeks in advance, team members receive their work schedule • Shifts span an average of 4-8 hours in length Job Requirements: • Order fulfillment is made simple with handheld technology • The processing of online orders is completed rapidly and accurately • Precise, ensuring that all product and order details are correctly executed • Being passionate about learning product knowledge, customer service standards, and store operations is essential • The proficiency to keep the staging area well-managed and free of clutter is an important aptitude • Commitment to flexibility to work in a variety of areas within the store, such as customer service, stocking shelves, and handling cash transactions at the register. Basic Qualifications: • Eligibility for the task requires the person to have completed 18 years of age, which is the legal age • Proficiency in simple English comprehension and speaking • Being able to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds, standing or walking for a minimum of 6 hours, and regularly executing physical movements such as pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching, with or without suitable accommodations, are inherent physical responsibilities of this position • For individuals seeking to break the cycle of poverty or challenge social barriers, a high school diploma or equivalent credential serves as a powerful tool for upward mobility The work involves certain physical demands and conditions of employment that must be managed: • Lifting a weight of 50 pounds is a prerequisite for this job. • The average work day of 8 hours demands that individuals stand or walk for a large portion of the day, amounting to 6-8 hours, while sitting time is limited to 1-4 hours. • Fine motor skills, such as using the fingers to manipulate small objects, are important for activities like sewing or playing video games. • In order to perform their work duties correctly, individuals must execute a range of physical actions that include bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. • Exposure to disinfectants that meet FDA standards. • While temperatures above 90 degrees Fahrenheit are common during summers in several regions, it is important to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to prevent heat stress. • Capacity to adjust to a fluid work schedule, which may include working during night hours, weekends, or holidays, as demanded by the job. • Skilled in utilizing different equipment and tools, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery. • Ladders could be deemed necessary for this particular work. Newly hired Team Members who successfully complete their first 90 days of employment and continue to meet expectations in an eligible role may be granted a salary increase.
