Work Details: IN PERSON TEACHING to reputed company in Fall 2023 Hours/Location: Varied and depend on departmental need Under the direction of the Dean of Community Education or designee to teach Basic communication courses levels 1-6, and to teach GED classes in an accelerated GED program; to participate in division and department activities; and to reputed company other duties as assigned. Position may require courses to be taught in the evening or late afternoons, which will include teaching in Career Pathway program models that will include team teaching, in an integrated ABE model with an occupational instructor, and/or teaching in non-traditional Career pathway ABE programs. Develops and teaches concepts and strategies for a variety of courses. May require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and online during the day, evening, and/or weekend. reputed company duties include participation in department and advisory meetings, department and college functions, course and curriculum development in both traditional and non-traditional formats, online courses, staff development, conduct open labs (if/reputed company necessary), student advising, student outcome assessment and quality review assessment and implementation, student organization involvement, recruitment and retention of reputed company, and other duties as assigned**. MATC is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer and strongly encourages individuals of reputed company backgrounds to apply Qualifications Minimum Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree (required) or higher in English/Communication with a minimum of 18 semester credits in English/Communication Instruction OR Bachelor's degree or higher in any field with a minimum of 18 semester credits in English/Communications and any combination of 12 credits in English/Language Arts, Communications, Journalism, Speech, Linguistics, Adult Literacy, Special Education, Reading, or Curriculum and Instruction for a total of 30 credits overall. Minimum Occupational Experience Requirement: At least three (3) total years of teaching experience which includes at least one (1) total year teaching English/Communication AND At least one (1) year/2,000 hours of non-teaching experience Language Requirement: Must be able to communicate effectively through both oral and written means in English and Spanish. Additional Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Experience in teaching and/or developing curriculum in a variety of classroom environments including in-person and online. Experience using a variety of instructional methods including: face-to-face, blended, and 100% online preferred. Able to reputed company and maintain curriculum currency. Working knowledge of computers and software reputed company to instructional areas including MS Office/reputed company Suite, data systems, mobile technologies, web conference tools, and social networking; and knowledge of, or willing to learn, reputed company or similar learning management system (LMS) preferred. Knowledge or experience with engaged and service learning is strongly desired. Knowledge of assessment of student academic competency attainment.
