Job Overview We are looking for a passionate and committed Full-Time Virtual Special Education Teacher to join our team remotely. This position involves delivering comprehensive educational support to students with individualized learning needs, managing a diverse caseload of up to 35 students, and collaborating effectively with families and educational staff... Key Responsibilities • Conduct assessments to evaluate children’s skills and learning requirements through standardized testing, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their educational needs. • Communicate evaluation findings clearly with parents and general education teachers, promoting transparency and teamwork. • Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with federal regulations and best practices. • Work collaboratively with parents and school personnel to effectively monitor and enhance students’ progress. • Maintain timely communication with families, responding to inquiries via email, text, or phone within 24 hours. • Establish positive relationships with students and their families to foster an encouraging educational atmosphere. • Hold virtual meetings with students aimed at achieving IEP objectives. • Equip families with strategies and resources to support their child’s learning outside of the classroom. • Customize instructional materials to cater to the varied needs of students. • Track student performance using measurable data to shape instructional strategies and interventions. • Collaborate with school administration to ensure alignment and support in special education initiatives. • Schedule and lead special education meetings, ensuring all relevant participants are included and timelines are respected. • Engage in professional development and in-service training to enhance teaching skills. • Offer weekly office hours for parents and students to address any questions or concerns. • Perform additional duties as required to support the overall educational mission. Live Virtual Instruction • Facilitate dynamic virtual classes for students from Monday to Thursday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM (ET). • Use various online platforms to deliver interactive lessons effectively. • Assess and evaluate student performance through virtual methods, including assessments and discussions. In-Person State Testing • Support the administration of state-mandated testing, ensuring an accommodating environment for students. • Follow testing protocols while assisting students during the assessment process. • Collaborate with administration to manage testing logistics and reporting. Qualifications • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferable. • Valid special education teacher license in Indiana is essential. • A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience is necessary, ideally in both virtual and in-person contexts. Required Skills • Proficiency with digital learning platforms and educational technologies. • Strong classroom management skills applicable in both virtual and physical settings. • Excellent collaborative abilities to work effectively with fellow educators and staff. • Exceptional organizational skills for managing diverse responsibilities.
