DomainTools is seeking an experienced leader to direct several of our DevOps delivery teams. This position will manage engineers and other managers responsible for designing, building, deploying, operating and maintaining our production systems. 

Our teams use DevOps platforms that allow for continuous integration and deployment of our world class security applications to our hybrid On-prem and AWS environments. We use best in class tools to accelerate engineering productivity, reduce operational toil, increase consistency and improve the lives of coworkers. 

At DomainTools, we confront the challenges of collecting, ingesting, processing, searching, alerting and contextualizing internet-scale data for use in real-time threat intelligence, defense and investigation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate your organization. Manage through other managers. Lead a team of engineers directly, provide leadership and mentoring throughout the organization.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain talent to ensure your teams have the skills and capabilities needed. Manage low performers.
  • Collaborate across teams to understand requirements, propose improvements, guide direction, ensure best practices and gain alignment. Predict the needs of your teams and customers.
  • Define, implement and continually improve processes. 
  • Estimate project requirements, timelines, capacity and costs.
  • On-call participation with your team of 24/7 operations engineers around the world.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in technology management
    • Director level experience
    • Large team oversight (20+ people)
    • Off-shore team management
    • Direct performance management
    • Proven ability to interact, present and influence at all levels of companies, from executives to engineers.
  • 5+ years development experience building SaaS solutions and relevant tooling
    • AWS & private cloud
    • K8s (orchestration)
    • Kafka (streaming)
    • C/Python/GoLang/Rust (programming)
    • Data systems (RDBMS, NoSQL, Datalakehouse)
  • Experience creating & implementing visibility
    • Project management & process creation
    • Individual performance
    • Team performance
    • Project KPI's

Pluses

  • Masters degree or higher in Computer Science/related field or equivalent experience
  • Multi-disciplinary (DevOps, RelEng, QA, Documentation, NOC, etc)
  • RedHat OpenShift
  • Deep DNS knowledge
  • Experience working with Internet security, threat intelligence products, Whois data, DNS data, SSL certificate data, web crawl data, and related technologies
  • Strong opinions, loosely held
  • Ownership of cost governance
  • Experience with AI for programmer efficiency
