The PTA provides care at the direction of the supervising Physical Therapist and actively participates in discharge planning. The PTA is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice following the guidelines of the State of Texas Board of Examiners for Physical Therapy.Services are delivered within the framework of an interdisciplinary team approach, including the patient and significant others. These services are delivered in compliance with CommonSpirit, St. Joseph's mission, ethical standards, and policies and procedures. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:

• Associate Degree; Major in Kinesiology/Applied Science or other Physical Therapy related field
• Licensed by the State of Texas- Physical Therapist Assistant
• BLS CPR certified, American Heart Association

Minimum Experience:NoneMinimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Effective Communication
• Knowledge of the principles and skills of the clinical process to provide patient care and treatment.
• Critical thinking skills
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal
• Basic Computer skills
