EXPERIENCE AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of six (6) months experience in a general laborer or similar capacity.
- Knowledge of general laborer practices, procedures, general parts, components, and apparatuses.
- Knowledge of general laborer Safety Practices and Procedures.
- Ability to operate power and electrical tools, prepare basic reports, and have good manual dexterity.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, managers, and the public.
- Valid Driver’s License must comply with El Paso Electric Company’s Driving Policy.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License* is required for Fleet Services.
- Available to work irregular hours and overtime as required.
- Must pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The following essential job functions are accomplished by utilizing hand, small power and electrical tools, trailers, forklifts, air impact wrenches, bolt cutters, wires, cables, scrap materials, safety equipment, and other related equipment and materials.
- Refuels, wash, and clean Company vehicles.
- Picks up parts and/or equipment from various vendors.
- Delivers parts and/or equipment to various work sites.
- Separates and removes useable scrap material from scrap wire.
- Separates various wires and cables into sorting bins for shipping.
- Re-stocks usable material to appropriate inventory shelves as required.
- Prepares paperwork for entry into the online inventory system as required.
- Moves material trailers in and out of the warehouse to unload material as required.
- Drives Company vehicle to various sites to perform functions.
- Keeps maintenance of yards as assigned.
- Obtains forklift operating license and operates forklift as needed.
- Complies with all applicable company policies, procedures, and codes of ethics, as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations, including employment, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.
