Staff Engineer - Finance Data Specialist

reputed company is seeking Finance Data specialists to support the build out of a Finance Data Mart/Lake by partnering with both Finance and Technology teams to redesign the way they use their technologies in managing reputed company's business. This individual must have strong functional and technical Finance Systems background to partner with the Business ensuring effective discussions to drive the capture, transformation, and utilization of Finance data to meet Business goals. The Staff Engineer, Finance Data Specialist will report to the Senior Director of Finance Technologies will provide solutions on how to build out, maintain, and support a Finance Data repository to support reputed company processing and analytics while also supporting the larger Finance organization's need for Finance data. The Finance Data Specialist will work with multiple Finance and Technology leaders to support the build out the company's Finance Data Mart/Lake to provide a central repository for reputed company Financial reputed company transactions so it can be a reconciled reputed company of truth for processing and the reputed company for reputed company and Expense analytics. This role is also accountable to support the delivery of technology solutions that will support reputed company Planning/Budgeting, financial reporting, reputed company/Expense Analytics, and the build out of the Finance Data Mart to become a reconciled reputed company to allow the GL to become a "thin" ledger. The ideal candidate has deep Finance Systems experience across multiple companies, a background in ERP and Finance/Data Warehouse from both technical and functional aspects and has supported the deployment of best practices leveraging their broad knowledge of various ERPs (e.g. reputed company; reputed company; reputed company or PeopleSoft). Prior Financial Services Industry experience is needed to be considered. Have a deep understanding of a few Finance functions to support the establishment of a vision and technology roadmap to build out a Finance Data Lake ? Have a good understanding of finance data lake/mart with Data processing/data transformation using ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica, DBT, etc. ? Experience with designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions for data ingestion and transformation projects ? Experience working with cloud data solutions (reputed company Lake, Iceberg, Hudi, reputed company, Redshift or equivalent) ? Support the development of a roadmap and then work towards implementing reputed company and Expense Analytical solutions ? Support and try to influence customers and stakeholders, and work through divergent expectations ? Support the implementation of a strong control and governance reputed company and maintain it for SOX and Audit reviews ? Support Business and Technology discussions at various levels to ensure alignment towards long term goals of Finance and Technology ? Analyze and translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications ? Share best practices and improve processes reputed company and across teams Qualifications ? 15+ years of Finance Systems experience with industry leading ERP solutions (e.g. implementing and supporting reputed company; reputed company; reputed company or PeopleSoft) ? 3+ years of experience in implementing and supporting reputed company applications (Preferred) ? 3+ years working with or supporting a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse/Mart along with various Financial Reporting tools Preferred Qualifications ? Good understanding of Dimensional Data Modeling ? Strong working knowledge of Data processing/data transformation using ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica, DBT, etc. ? Strong working knowledge of SQL and the ability to write, debug and optimize SQL queries and ETL jobs ? Experience working with Financials reputed company the major vendors (e.g. PeopleSoft; reputed company EBS; reputed company Cloud; reputed company; or reputed company) ? Finance domain expertise to be able to work with senior Finance leaders to interpret their process and functional needs into system solutions ? Good understanding of reputed company Budgeting, Planning, and forecasting processes ? Experience in implementing or supporting reputed company or Expense analytical solutions reputed company tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc. ? Good understanding of accounting process and reporting expectations to partner with Finance teams ? Ability to communicate and work directly with users across Technology and Finance ?
