Material Handler (Warehouse like)

About the position The Material Handler position at FedEx in Newark, NJ, is a full-time role focused on the safe and efficient operation of equipment used for the movement of packages, documents, heavyweight items, dangerous goods, and Unit Load Devices (ULDs). The role involves assisting in the buildup and breakdown of pallets containing heavyweight freight and serving as a liaison between the company and ULD repair vendors as required. The Material Handler will also perform other duties as assigned, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and safe manner. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance from the ground to chest level and to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs using appropriate equipment or assistance from another person. The job demands physical stamina, as the employee must be able to walk and stand for designated work hours, bend and squat, and maneuver packages above shoulder level. Additionally, the Material Handler must be capable of working in all weather conditions and climbing stairs and ladders as required. Successful completion of all basic and re-currency training is mandatory, and effective communication in a noisy operations environment is essential. The job is classified as a non-covered safety-sensitive position, requiring a medical exam and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safety. A valid driver's license is necessary since operating motorized conveyances is part of the job responsibilities. The pay for this position is set at $19.76 per hour, with additional pay, premiums, or bonuses potentially available based on experience and other job-related factors. Responsibilities ?
