HubSpot Ventures is the global venture capital arm of HubSpot and sits within the business’s Corporate Development group. The mission of HubSpot Ventures is to accelerate innovation for HubSpot and our customers by investing in world-class startups within our ecosystem. HubSpot is seeking to add a member to our venture capital team to help us invest in and support remarkable software companies. We are a small team that is highly active, with a growing portfolio of 50+ companies that we support through connections to HubSpot teams, technical advisory, support with GTM, and a strong network of founders and investors. We are looking for someone who is passionate about startups and supporting founders through investing and hands-on support and business development within HubSpot. We are still a startup ourselves, so the ideal teammate is someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and working on problems of any magnitude. In this role, you’ll need to: • Conduct the sourcing and due diligence of venture capital investments, including competitive research, financial analysis, and memo composition • Research and develop theses and insights about the B2B software market, identifying shifts and evolving trends in the HubSpot ecosystem, as well as their implications for the business • Work cross functionally within HubSpot to envision and drive partnerships between our portfolio companies and HubSpot • Develop strong relationships with entrepreneurs and the broader venture ecosystem of VC investors & accelerators/incubators • Interface with startup management teams and cross-functional HubSpot executives, including product, engineering, legal, and finance • Support and lead projects to improve HubSpot Ventures’ operations, portfolio benefits, external events, and communications We are looking for someone who has: • 3+ years experience working within venture capital, investment banking, strategy consulting, or a high-growth startup; software investing experience is a plus. • Excellent organizational, problem solving, communication, and analytical skills • High autonomy with a track record of ideating and executing cross-functional projects and partnerships • A demonstrated passion for startups/entrepreneurship and emerging technologies Cash compensation range: 130,000.00 - 200,000.00 USD Annually This resource will help guide how we recommend thinking about the range you see. The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
