We are seeking a Managing Editor who will serve as the leader of our digital publications. You will play a key role on the Education team, establishing the vision for the articles that appear on our Insights & Education offering. You will identify voice and approach that resonates with our broad audience of investors and traders and set the editorial calendar by working with several stakeholders to identify what topics will resonate with clients and prospects alike. You'll lead and develop a team of content writers, managing their work against deadlines, and providing nurturing feedback and development opportunities along the way. As an editor, you should have serious writing chops and be able to deftly explain complex topics in a way that's both easy to understand and engaging. Considering our space, you should have a keen understanding of markets and trading, which ranges from the basics of investing to more advanced trading topics, like options and futures. Responsibilities include: • Serve as managing editor for our digital publication, setting our editorial calendar and overseeing content development from pitch to publication. • Lead and develop a team of digital content writers and freelancers to create best-in-class education and market commentary. • Research, pitch, and write market news, personal finance, retirement, trading and investing pieces for digital platforms. • Collaborate with subject-matter experts to identify stories and produce content that help to demystify the markets. • Monitor content performance, making recommendations for optimization and future content to build on success. • Partner with social, digital, and other marketing teams to align content creation and leverage existing content with upcoming campaigns. • Design and create other educational content (e.g., online courses, white papers) when needed. What you have To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have: Required Qualifications • 5+ years' experience managing and developing a team of writers and editors that reported directly to you, not cross functional or dotted line • 5+ years of financial writing experience covering business news, trading, personal finance or investing. • A keen understanding of personal finance, investing, and trading (e.g., options and futures). • Responsible, creative, forward thinker with an ability to find interesting financial angles to current trends and news. • Knowledge of SEO, social media, and digital marketing. • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) Preferred Qualifications • Series 7 and 24 licenses • Proven ability to write accurately and clearly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. • Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate with peers and senior leadership. • Strong project management and organizational skills. • Independent yet comfortable seeking guidance from Managing Director and other peers when needed.
