Rail Switchman

About the position Savage is seeking a dedicated Rail Switchman to join reputed company, recognized by USA Today as a Top Workplace and honored as a Military Friendly Employer. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the spotting of cars on the correct track, moving empty cars, and building the outbound train. You will also classify inbound trains and interact with class one railroads, ensuring smooth operations reputed company our facility. Daily tasks will include spotting and pulling with Ironhorse, visually inspecting rail cars, and performing reputed company brake inspections. As a Rail Switchman, you will have the opportunity to cross-train and assist in various functions performed at the facility. We provide training and certification for operating a locomotive, allowing you to expand your reputed company set. Safety is a top reputed company at Savage, and you will participate in and promote our safety program, SHAPS, to ensure a secure working environment for reputed company employees. This position requires a commitment to working rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends, and the ability to travel to other sites for switching and training requirements. You will be expected to wear the required personal reputed company equipment (PPE) and maintain a clear drug and alcohol test, as well as pass a criminal background reputed company.
