Legal Operations Manager (Hybrid - Oakland)

We are seeking a highly motivated, self-sufficient, and detail-oriented individual to join our growing legal team. This role will work closely with the VP of Legal and business stakeholders across all levels of the company.

This role is a hybrid and the expectations will be in office two days a week.

What you'll be doing

  • Independently define and drive strategic and operational initiatives with measurable results, ensuring on-time and on-budget execution.
  • Identify, implement, and manage legal technology solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing company platforms such as Adobe, DocuSign, Salesforce, SpotDraft, Vanta, and Vendr.
  • Work cross-functionally to optimize system workflows, ensuring that legal processes align with broader business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Report on key operational and substantive metrics to inform decision-making, including analyzing legal matters, work products, and financial impact.
  • Develop and implement policies, playbooks, and best practices to enhance efficiency within the legal team.
  • Oversee vendor and outside counsel management, optimizing legal spend and enforcing processes for cost control.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure legal technology solutions meet compliance and security requirements.
  • Assist with legal budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to maximize department efficiency.
  • Operate autonomously in identifying process gaps, generating actionable solutions, and driving continuous improvement.
  • What you'll bring

  • B.A. or B.S. degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in legal operations, project management, or technology implementation within a legal team (in-house experience preferred).
  • Proven ability to work independently and drive projects forward with minimal oversight.
  • Strong background in technology integration, including experience working with platforms such as Adobe, DocuSign, Notion, Salesforce, Vanta, and Vendr.
  • Experience with software solutions for contract lifecycle management (SpotDraft a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage priorities and make proactive, strategic decisions.
  • Experience in developing and implementing legal playbooks, workflows, and policies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to educate teams on legal technology solutions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • The base salary range for new hires in this role is between $119,200 - $149,000 for a level 3. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
