Job Overview We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable Underwriting Supervisor to lead an exceptional team focused on commercial trucking insurance. Key Responsibilities • Lead and nurture a team of underwriters, promoting professional development and a culture of high performance. • Supervise the assessment of new and renewal business to ensure compliance with underwriting standards and profitability benchmarks. • Provide specialized technical support for complex or high-value accounts. • Assess team performance metrics and introduce initiatives to achieve or surpass departmental targets. • Collaborate with marketing, claims, and risk management divisions to create customized solutions for clients. • Foster constructive relationships with agency partners. • Analyze industry trends and adapt underwriting approaches to sustain a competitive advantage. • Ensure adherence to all regulatory mandates and internal protocols. • Engage in the recruitment, training, and performance assessment of team members. • Be prepared to travel up to 40%. Required Skills • In-depth knowledge of the commercial trucking insurance landscape, encompassing risk evaluation and pricing methodologies. • Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities. • Proven track record in leading and developing a team in a dynamic environment. • Professional designations such as CPCU, AU, or ARM are highly regarded. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial underwriting, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
