Overview: POSITION TITLE (reputed company title) COORDINATING TEACHER WORKING TITLE Coordinating Teacher-Special Education Services (SES) SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT Special Education Services LOCATION Crossroads II, Cary, NC PAY GRADE Classroom Teacher (not eligible for National Board pay) FLSA STATUS Exempt ELIGIBILITY FOR EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT No WORK WEEK SCHEDULE Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and weekends) POSITION PURPOSE: Serves as a collaborative member of the SES Instructional Programming and Support Team by identifying, cultivating, implementing, and supporting evidenced-based practices that support student growth and meet both federal and state requirements for implementation of students Individual Educational Programs (IEPs). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs) Extensive knowledge of state and federal legal requirements for the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP) including transition, instruction and behavior components; Extensive knowledge of Standard Course of Study Standards for Literacy and Math and instructional strategies supporting reputed company with disabilities to access reputed company Course of Study Standards; Considerable knowledge of reputed company Office, including Word, reputed company, and PowerPoint; reputed company Apps; Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback; Ability to collect, interpret, and analyze student and teacher performance data in order to generate effective courses of action; Ability to design and deliver professional development; Ability to evaluate trainings and professional development to ensure topics and information are being implemented; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, reputed company, parents, external agencies, and the public. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university in special education or reputed company field; Five years of teaching experience in special education. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educators License in Special Education General Curriculum, Cross Categorical (mild/moderately disabled), Mentally Disabled, Behaviorally/Emotionally Disabled, or Learning Disabled; Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operators license with a good driving record according to the State of NC requirements. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in special education; Leadership experience in assessing student needs; planning, developing, and implementing programs; evaluating program effectiveness; and in designing and conducting professional staff development; Knowledge of Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) applications and programs (ECATS, Wake Connect, Wake Learns, etc.); Job training and job development experience; Understanding of assessment processes (i.e., vocational assessments, interest inventories, state assessments, etc.). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as a collaborative member of the SES Instructional Programming and Support Team by identifying, cultivating, implementing, and supporting evidenced-based practices that support student growth and meet both federal and state requirements for implementation of reputed company IEPs. Identifies, implements, and supports research-based instructional and behavioral practices, including the use of technology, that support student growth and post-secondary education/training. Assists with the development and implementation of short-term and long-term plans and goals to support and train schools based on identified research-based practices reputed company to special education. Assists with the creation and administration of professional development plans including budgeting, reputed company, substitutes, Wake Learns, and communication. Stays abreast of trends, research, and best practices for instruction by attending professional development events, utilizing social media, and communicating with other professionals reputed company and reputed company the district. Collaborates with SES teams in order to align literacy, math, and behavioral instruction and assessment to support the WCPSS/SES strategic plan mission, vision, and goals. Regularly visits schools providing targeted support and assistance to special education teachers, with a special emphasis on new teachers, as outlined in identified best practices for transition, instruction, and behavior support. Attends IEP/Functional Behavioral Analysis (FBA)/Behavior reputed company Plan (BIP) pre-planning meetings and scheduled meetings, as determined appropriate, to establish processes for building reputed company at the school level. Assists Senior Administrator with the allocation process for special education teachers and instructional assistants. As applicable, provides programming and resources to support the completion of reputed company graduation requirements to facilitate reputed company with disabilities with graduating on cohort. As applicable, promotes instruction in self-determination, self-advocacy, social/interpersonal skills and work-reputed company behaviors to provide career reputed company and transition planning information to teachers, reputed company, and parents. Performs other reputed company duties, as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. The position, at times, must be able to come into direct contact with school system staff, staff members of external funding agencies, and the community. Work is considered light physical work, requiring the exertion of up to ten pounds of force. The work frequently requires driving automobile equipment.
