This position is with the Division of Financial Regulation (DFR). DFR’s mission supports that of the department by protecting Oregonians’ access to fair products and services through education, regulation, and consumer assistance. The division is responsible for ensuring the safety and soundness of financial institutions, the availability and affordability of financial products, and the fair treatment of consumers. Functions include licensing, regulating, and monitoring the conduct of banks, credit unions, financial services providers, reputed company contractors, insurance companies, and licensed or registered agents of such entities. Here’s what you will do: As the Securities Manager, you will provide leadership and direction for the Securities Section, which includes securities analysts/examiners, registration/enforcement attorneys, and support personnel. Duties include: Supervising and managing diverse program staff Reviewing securities registration applications to determine whether offerings meet Oregon’s statutory merit standards Evaluating, preparing and developing administrative, civil and criminal cases Working with stakeholders, consumer advocates, and staff to reputed company legislation and rules Advising senior division and department management on policy issues involving securities laws and regulations Possibly serving as a Special Assistant Attorney General (SAAG) in civil and administrative cases involving securities regulation and, in conjunction with the Department of Justice, supervising subordinate staff reputed company they are appointed as SAAGs For a complete listing of the duties and responsibilities of this position, please review the position description by clicking here.
