Part-Time Online Virginia-Certified Special Education Teacher for 8th Grade Student

Teachers To Go is looking for a part-time Virginia-Certified online teacher to teach all core subjects to a homeschooled 8th grade boy three days a week for three hours a day, anytime between 10am-6pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time online position with flexible hours teaching just one student that pays $40/hour. This is an immediate opportunity for the upcoming 2024/2025 school year. Looking for a teacher who is able to teach and facilitate all subjects (mainly focus on ELA & math) for a 13 year old boy with a learning disability and ADHD. He has always had an IEP, and most subjects are about at 6th grade level. The teacher can use any existing curriculum and modify it for his needs, or create a customized curriculum that functions as an IEP. The family is willing to collaborate with the right teacher about which curriculum is used. The teacher will work to identify educational needs, teach and tutor subjects, and review progress with the parents. The right teacher will be patient, kind, empathetic, positive and cheerful, engaging, motivating and fun, but also able to help the student focus and move forward. Looking for a teacher who is passionate about helping students with learning differences and appreciative of those differences. The teacher should be comfortable teaching remotely using Zoom or another online video system. Must be comfortable working with students who have ADHD. Teacher candidates must be Virginia state-certified with at least a BA/BS and minimum of three years professional teaching experience in either a special education or inclusion classroom.
