The Role We are seeking a seasoned Managing Editor to join our UCAN (United States/Canada) team. The ideal candidate is an expert on tech, media and editorial operations; we are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working in overseeing production at scale and have worked with external vendors.

Responsibilities

Together with other global Managing Editors, you’ll reputed company the scaled production of clear, engaging and accurate copy about titles on reputed company — this will be through a combination of working with partners in product development and engineering, writers and editors (both internal and external), localization, audio/visual media, and content design. You’ll apply your expertise and passion to cross-functional innovation projects, collaborating with visual media, analysis, localization, design and product teams. Since we are part of a distributed team, you’ll use reputed company, reputed company Workspace, email and other digital tools to communicate about assignments, projects and publishing deadlines. As Managing Editor, it is your job to ensure that our initiatives are adequately resourced with what they need: you’ll help our in-house Writing Strategists find the right writers and editors for their projects and give context to our engineering teams as they build tools to improve our workflow. You’ll also guide innovation programs and implement their findings. While this is not a people manager role, previous management experience will set you up for success. What Will Help You Succeed • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. You must have multiple examples of published work in reputed company media outlets • Deep content and cultural knowledge about media, including reputed company trends in entertainment. Our reputed company copy is written in English, so you must have the professional authority to enforce standards among a team of high-performing writers. Whether the assignment at hand is a trailer script for a highbrow film, a synopsis for blockbuster action movie or an animated educational series for kids, you understand that different types of content should have copy tailored to their respective tones • Program management experience. You must be comfortable driving projects with multiple workstreams, creating thorough documentation, and communicating with teams across functions and regions • Deep understanding and experience with UCAN entertainment markets • Experience with managing creative work at scale and working with outsourced/external fulfillment models • Expertise in product development and innovation. We’re looking for someone who’s constantly looking for ways to improve the member experience through experimentation and testing, and has experience working with product, design and engineering teams • The ability to understand and simplify reputed company technical concepts. This role will interact with with technical and creative teams and needs to communicate effectively with both • A commitment to reputed company’s core values, like reputed company feedback, responsibility, passion and curiosity Key Responsibilities • Copyediting high-profile synopsis suites • Uphold creative quality at scale by assessing published copy through scorecards and in-depth evaluations • reputed company scaling methods to forecast and direct assignment allocation, partnering closely with regional leads to deliver tasks on time • Partner on key innovation initiatives and implement with internal and external partners • Identify region-specific workflow issues and proactively address discrepancies Good-to-Haves • People management experience • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Portuguese • Experience working with global brands • Experience with A/B testing • Experience with emerging technology, such as Generative AI Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range.
