UFT Automation Engineer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a UFT Automation Engineer for a short-term CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in lower Manhattan, NYC. This is a short-term contract position through the end of 2024, with the possibility of extension based on project needs. The position is fully remote, and candidates must be based in the U.S... working East Coast hours. Responsibilities: Automation Test Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using UFT for functional and regression testing of web and desktop applications. Create reusable test assets, functions, and components within UFT to enhance test efficiency and reduce maintenance efforts. Test Execution and Analysis: Execute automated test scripts and analyze results to identify defects, inconsistencies, and performance issues. Collaborate with the QA and development teams to triage, track, and resolve defects. Test Framework Maintenance: Maintain and enhance existing test frameworks to accommodate new functionalities and changes in the application. Regularly update test scripts and ensure alignment with current business requirements and testing standards. Test Planning and Coordination: Work with QA Leads and stakeholders to understand testing requirements, create test plans, and define test cases. Coordinate and execute test activities across various teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Reporting and Documentation: Generate detailed test reports and metrics to communicate test progress and outcomes to stakeholders. Document test procedures, configurations, and results for audit and knowledge sharing purposes. Integration with Test Management Tools: Integrate UFT scripts with test management tools like ALM/Quality Center for test execution and defect management. Ensure proper version control and documentation of test scripts within the test management system. Required Skills: 3+ years of recent experience in test automation using UFT. Strong understanding of UFT's features, including keyword-driven and data-driven testing. Experience with VBScript for test script development and maintenance. Familiarity with test management tools like Micro Focus ALM/Quality Center. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
