Job TitleFacilities Specialist III Agency Texas A&M Agrilife Research Department San Angelo Proposed Minimum SalaryCommensurate Job LocationSan Angelo, Texas Job TypeStaff Job Description The Facilities Specialist III position supports all aspects of a full-service facility management program to ensure a safe, healthy, and comfortable work environment for employees and visitors. Position... Responsibilities: Develop and administer a preventative maintenance schedule on all pertinent facility systems including HVAC, plumbing including agriculture water lines, electrical, and septic systems. Includes ordering and possible picking up parts and equipment which would require operating a vehicle to perform these duties across all locations. Work with Research Center Manager, contracted service technicians, and College Station Facilities personnel on developing improvement plans for major facility upgrades and repairs. Serves on a team of primary contacts for after-hours building emergencies. Must be able to promptly respond in person, on site, to after-hours building emergencies at the San Angelo Center. Maintenance, repair and construction of fences, gates, and other assets as necessary. Coordinates or performs basic repairs to buildings and infrastructure including changing light fixtures, assembling furniture, light plumbing, sheetrock repair and patching, painting, sanding, sealing. Diagnoses, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment. Inspects, tests, installs, adjusts, and maintains devices, control instruments, mechanical and electrical equipment, and related parts. Cleans, washes, and details fleet on occasion. Coordinates and moves furniture, furnishings, and equipment. General cleanup of facility grounds; keep free of debris and trash. Keeps grass mowed, trees trimmed, and flower beds maintained. Manages the irrigation system for center lawn and trees on a schedule and maintained for optimum water use. Oversees inventory of supplies and equipment. Performs basic maintenance of shop tools and equipment as well as some ranch related equipment. Monitors and reports fuel tank consumption. May be requested to pick up, haul, and deliver across all locations various materials. May be requested to operate equipment for specific projects. May include light custodial duties including cleaning of buildings: general organization, sweeping, dusting cobwebs, windows, etc. Other related duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six years of related experience. Preferred Education and Experience: More than six years of maintenance and/or carpentry experience preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. Fabricating and welding experience. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Other Requirements: Must be able to promptly respond in person, on site, to after-hours building emergencies. A valid Texas Driver’s License. Tasks may require the ability to occasionally work in extreme heat (>90°F) and cold ( Martin Ranch located in Menard County (± 75 miles), > Read Ranch located in Crockett County (± 68 miles), > Sonora Research Station in Sutton County (± 89 miles). All positions are security-sensitive.
