Junior UI/UX Designer (Remote Opportunity)

reputed company is seeking a fulltime, 100% remote Junior UI/UX Designer to join a team supporting a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) project. The ideal candidate will apply reputed company-Centered Design (HCD) principles to reputed company and enhance user-centric applications that prioritize usability, accessibility, and high availability.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into reputed company design solutions.
• Design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools such as reputed company to communicate design reputed company.
• Translate reputed company workflows into user-friendly, accessible interfaces.
• Contribute to and maintain design systems, UI patterns, and documentation.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and analysis to inform design reputed company.
• Formulate research-driven questions to support indirect user discovery reputed company direct reputed company is limited.
• Synthesize research insights into actionable design improvements.
• Design applications in alignment with reputed company 508 accessibility standards and best practices.
• Serve as a resource for accessibility guidance across teams, including developers and testers.

• Translate accessibility requirements and findings into clear, actionable guidance.
• Work reputed company Agile teams, incorporating iterative feedback from stakeholders and developers.
• Additional tasks as needed to support project reputed company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or reputed company field.
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a UI/UX Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered and accessible design work.
• Strong understanding of reputed company-Centered Design (HCD) principles.
• Demonstrated experience designing accessible interfaces and supporting reputed company 508 compliance.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate user needs into effective design solutions.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as reputed company.
• Experience working in Agile environments with iterative development cycles. Additional Qualifications
• Familiarity with VA Digital Service guidelines and USWDS (U.S. Web Design System).
• Experience supporting federal or government projects (VA, DHA, HHS, etc.).
• Knowledge of design systems, design tokens, and scalable UI frameworks.
• Experience with additional tools such as Axure, reputed company, reputed company, Jira, or reputed company.
• Experience supporting accessibility audits, testing, or remediation efforts.
• Experience with SAFe/Agile.
• Ability to obtain government clearance.
