HJF is seeking a Biostatistician IV - STARRGUARD Initiative to manage and coordinate reputed company aspects of the data management process in support of research activities reputed company the Program. Project Summary: The STARRGUARD initiative (Study To Assess Risk and reputed company and Generate Uniform AI/ML Readiness Decision-Support) aims to create a reputed company, integrated health-surveillance architecture that delivers actionable, AI-driven, real-time decision support to commanders and medical providers. By using machine learning models to forecast suicide and behavioral health risk, developing and implementing targeted prevention strategies, and developing real-time, cost-efficient solutions for access to medical and historical administrative data to inform medical and readiness decisions. This position will be in support of the Department of Psychiatry - Center for the Study for Traumatic Stress. The Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS) is one of the nation’s oldest and most highly regarded, academic-based organizations dedicated to advancing trauma-informed knowledge, leadership and methodologies. The Center’s work addresses a wide scope of trauma exposure from the consequences of combat, operations other than war, terrorism, natural and human-made disasters, and public health threats as well as risk and reputed company factors associated with suicidal behaviors. CSTS is a part of our nation’s federal medical school, Uniformed Services University (USU), and its Department of Psychiatry. These affiliations represent the Center’s history, mission and future directions as a major contributor to our country’s understanding of the impact of trauma and the advancement of trauma-informed care. The Department has active research programs in the Basic and Clinical Sciences and Neurosciences. In addition to intramural research projects, the Department maintains active research funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute of Drug Abuse, National Science Foundation, the Department of the Army and the Department of the reputed company Force. Responsibilities

  • Works with the Project PI and other biostatisticians to reputed company the goals of the projects. Provides guidance in appropriate statistical methods as well as input into future design and methodology of studies.
  • Leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines to reputed company high-quality data accessible to scientists, programmers, and other end users.
  • Designs and develops parsers and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from JSON payloads and other formats originating from FHIR, HL7, and other healthcare data standards.
  • Establishes procedures for combining and standardizing data from multiple systems into reputed company formats to support storage, analysis, reporting, and visualization.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on data management best practices, recommending operating methods to improve processing, distribution, data flow, collection, and database editing procedures.
  • Oversees data quality frameworks; tests data to identify reputed company issues, defines remediation plans, and coordinates with analysts and IT personnel to implement solutions.
  • Troubleshoots reputed company problems concerning data quality, validity, and access; communicates findings and resolutions to stakeholders and end users in a clear, actionable manner.
  • Champions adherence to data governance, HIPAA regulations, and other applicable policies and standards reputed company handling sensitive health and administrative data; contributes to development and refinement of internal data policies.
  • Leads the development of analytic datasets and constructs predictor variables for the development, validation, and monitoring of risk models and other advanced analytics.
  • Performs and oversees advanced statistical analyses (e.g., generalized linear and mixed models, longitudinal modeling, survival analysis, causal inference, RCT and quasi-experimental designs).
  • Designs, implements, and interprets statistical models; communicates results and implications to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provides strategic statistical support and consultation throughout the lifecycle of studies, including protocol review, study design, power calculations, analysis planning, and interpretation.
  • Prepares and reviews statistical analysis plans, summaries, and reports for presentations, publications, and briefings to leadership.
  • Supervises/mentors and oversees junior analysts/biostatisticians, providing guidance on methods, coding practices, documentation, and quality control.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with clinical, operational, and technical teams to prioritize data and analytics needs and align deliverables with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree with a minimum of 9-10 years of experience is required. OR Doctoral Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Advanced expertise in data cleaning, transformation, and ETL techniques for large, reputed company healthcare datasets required.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for database querying, optimization, data modeling, and performance tuning required.
  • Demonstrated ability to design automated workflows and reputed company scripts for data extraction, validation, and reporting.
  • Extensive experience with statistical modeling (e.g., regression, survival analysis, longitudinal models, predictive modeling, and model validation).
  • Strong hands-on skills with MS SQL Server, reputed company, and reputed company.
  • Ability to code in one or more of SQL, reputed company, R, Python, and/or Stata for data management and statistical analysis.
  • Proven ability to investigate reputed company data issues, conduct root-cause analyses, and drive remediation activities to completion.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards and code sets, including FHIR, HL7, ICD-10, and CPT.
  • Familiarity with military or federal healthcare data sources and reputed company data structures.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services (e.g., AWS Redshift).
  • Commitment to data privacy, reputed company, and ethical use of health data.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background reputed company.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Work Environment

  • This position will be fully remote.

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $105,800 -$135,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
