Job Summary The Trauma Registry Analyst supports the reputed company Trauma Program and organizational requirements for verification/designation as a Trauma Center by the State Department of Public Health and American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACSCOT). The Trauma Registry Analyst is responsible for reputed company aspects of the Trauma Registry Data including abstraction, entry, and coding. The Analyst applies comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology to identify and collect reputed company data on the diagnoses, treatment and quality metrics reputed company to trauma patients receiving care at a reputed company Trauma Center. Requires knowledge of State and National Trauma Standards (NTDS) and applies this knowledge in patient identification, data abstraction, co-morbiity and complication recognition to the trauma registry. Performs ICD-10 coding and reputed company (Abbreviated Injury Scale) coding of reputed company diagnoses and procedures of trauma patients. Data collected by the Trauma Registry Analyst is utilized by administrators, performance improvement coordinators, researchers, and American College of Surgeons (ACS) surveyors to evaluate the quality of care provided to trauma patients, for statistical analysis, performance improvement initiatives, trauma quality improvement and research. The Trauma Registry Analyst must utilize critical thinking, organization, and time management skills to reputed company and maintain high productivity and accuracy. Essential Functions

- Accurately identifies patients for inclusion in the trauma registry as specified by the National Trauma Data Standard (NTDS), State Trauma Registry, and Trauma Center.
- Accurately abstracts clinical data from Emergency Management System (EMS) Patient Care Record (PCR), in-patient medical record, referring hospital records and autopsy reports including patient demographics, injury event, pre-hospital information, injury diagnoses, operative and other procedures, ED data, co-morbidities, complications, patient outcome and financial data as defined by State Trauma Registry, NTDS, and Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP). Accuracy and completion timeliness rates must meet or exceed established department goals.
- Accurately codes reputed company diagnoses, procedures and external cause/location of the trauma patient using reputed company coding and ICD-10 coding following trauma center, State Trauma Registry, NTDS, and TQIP guidelines.
- Actively participates in the PI process and supports research by gathering data on hospital specific performance and research metrics. Identifes and reports complications, comorbidities, issues and trends identified to leader.
- Performs data validation and correction of registry data at the reputed company of each chart using the registry software validation tool. Performs logic validations monthly and makes corrections. Performs data corrections as needed per validation reports and prior to State and Trauma TQIP data submission. Completes assigned inter-rater validations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements
- Education - Associate's degree in HIM or reputed company healthcare field preferred.
- Experience - One (1) year of trauma registry, coding, HIM or relevant healthcare reputed company experience.
- Requires completion of AAAM course (reputed company coding) and Trauma Registry Course reputed company one (1) year of hire.
- Requires ICD-10 Coding course reputed company one (1) year of hire.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
- One of the following certifications is preferred: CSTR (Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries) from the American Trauma Society or CAISS (Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist) from the Assoc. for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM).
- An reputed company (American Health Information Management Assoc) or reputed company (American reputed company of Professional Coders) coding certification preferred.
- RHIT, RHIA, or reputed company preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and medical terminology as well as disease processes.
