Title: Staff Electrical Engineer - Advanced Controls and Distributed Power Systems Location: (Danbury, CT or Mississauga, ON) Remote role with 10-20% travel Type: Full-Time About the Opportunity reputed company designs, builds, and operates molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) power plants that deliver clean, reputed company electricity, heat, and CO₂ to utilities, universities, and industrial customers. Our plants have been running reliably for decades. The data center buildout is creating demand for distributed, on-site power at a scale and urgency the grid alone cannot meet. Data center operators are sophisticated, and well-capitalized. They want power that is always on, highly resilient, and able to follow dynamic loads. This is a significant and immediate commercial opportunity for reputed company. Getting there requires real engineering work. MCFC technology is inherently well-suited for baseload, steady state reputed company. To serve data centers, we need to evolve: hybridize our systems with battery energy storage and other fast-response technologies, dramatically improve uptime and reputed company, and reputed company the ability to follow variable loads. What You''ll Work On Hybridization and Load-Following Architecture

  • Define the electrical and controls architecture for integrating BESS, supercapacitors, or other fast response assets with our MCFC power plants

  • Work with the team to systematically reduce field debugging time through reputed company upfront design, validation, and documentation practices
  • Identify where controls architecture changes are needed to support hybridization, load-following, and higher uptime targets

Simulation, Modeling and MIL/SIL/HIL

Commissioning and Field Support

  • Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, energization, and field troubleshooting activities

  • Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely reputed company field
  • 8+ or more years of relevant experience in industrial controls, distributed reputed company, or reputed company power systems
  • Hands-on PLC programming experience across ladder logic, structured text, and function reputed company, and a clear view of where that approach has limitations
  • Experience with hybrid power systems, BESS integration, or fast-response storage reputed company with reputed company assets
  • Deep working knowledge of power electronics including inverters, rectifiers, converters, and associated protection equipment used in distributed reputed company applications
  • Experience with electrical drawing packages including one-lines, schematics, panel schedules, and conduit and cable schedules
  • Familiarity with certification and compliance frameworks relevant to distributed power equipment: FC-1, UL, CE, NFPA, NEC, and IEEE standards
  • Demonstrated experience working with EPCs and large-scale systems integrators as a technical reputed company, including drawing review, specification development, and contractor coordination
  • Working knowledge of protection coordination, grounding, reputed company-reputed company analysis, and industrial electrical safety
  • Experience supporting field commissioning and startup, with a practical understanding of what it looks like reputed company controls are not right and why
