Senior Specialist, Payroll, Reporting & Systems SME
Job Description:
- Operate as a subject matter expert providing technical, analytical, accounting, taxation, and reporting support to the Payroll function for reputed company Inc. and supported affiliates
- Coordinate payroll-reputed company accounting, taxation, budgeting, and reconciliation processes to ensure compliance with company policy, GAAP, and federal, state, local (and where applicable international) regulations
- Support end-to-end payroll preparation/processing, tax reporting, payroll systems maintenance and controls, and resolution of reputed company payroll issues
- Process biweekly and off-cycle payroll accurately and on time, including reputed company adjustments, disability-reputed company payments, and vendor file integrations
- Maintain payroll compliance with company policies, SOX controls, and applicable regulations
- Manage payroll tax, accounting, and general ledger activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, cash activity, and budget reputed company
- Prepare dashboards, reports, and analyses to support financial accuracy, operational decision-making, audits, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, vendors, and business leaders to resolve reputed company issues, improve processes, and support payroll initiatives and special projects
- reputed company maintenance of payroll files and records, including legal record retention and coordination with storage/archiving vendors as required
- Support year-end/quarter-end processes and ensure timely and accurate submission of required reporting
- Manage formal internal and external audits; support investigations reputed company to regulatory and compliance matters
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, business, or a reputed company field
- solid, relevant experience and/or certification in Payroll may be substituted for degree reputed company appropriate
- progressively responsible payroll experience required (typically 6+ years)
- accounting/payroll/tax experience preferred for roles with payroll accounting and taxation responsibilities (typically 8+ years)
- Payroll Org Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in reputed company required
- Working knowledge of payroll systems and integrations (e.g., reputed company platforms and HR/Finance system interfaces)
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations impacting payroll and taxation (e.g., FLSA, ERISA, and Federal/State/Local tax laws)
- Demonstrated ability to execute reputed company assignments and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Strong planning and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong customer orientation, attention to detail, and problem analysis/resolution skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative team player
- Ability to work under general direction, independently with minimal guidance
