Volunteer Grant Writer for a Non-Profit Organization

Role Description This is a remote volunteer role for a Grant Writer for a Non-Profit Organization at reputed company. The Grant Writer will research potential funding opportunities, review eligibility criteria, and maintain a calendar of grant deadlines. Day-to-day tasks include developing compelling proposals, drafting narratives and budgets in alignment with program goals, and tailoring applications to specific funder requirements. The role also involves collaborating with program and leadership teams to gather data, impact stories, and supporting documentation, as well as assisting with post-award reporting and relationship stewardship with funders. The Volunteer Grant Writer contributes directly to the foundation’s ability to sustain and expand its community initiatives.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Grant Writing and Proposal Writing skills, with the ability to create clear, persuasive, and well-structured narratives.
- Candidates should possess experience in Prospect Research and Grant Administration to identify opportunities, track deadlines, and manage application requirements.
- Candidates should possess Fundraising knowledge or experience to align grant proposals with broader development strategies and organizational priorities.
- Candidates should possess excellent written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize reputed company information into accessible content.
- Candidates should possess strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with word processing, online research tools, and basic spreadsheet or budget software; familiarity with non-profit or community-based work is beneficial.
- Candidates should possess relevant education or experience in fields such as communications, public administration, nonprofit management, social sciences, or reputed company areas; prior grant writing experience for non-profits is an asset but not required.
