About the position The Staff Chaplain, Per Diem, provides flexible, compassionate spiritual care and emotional support to hospice patients, families, and caregivers on an as-needed basis. This role is after hours and on call and supports in-home patients, contracted facilities, the hospice house. Additionally, the Chaplain contributes to community crisis reputed company and provides debriefings and support sessions for staff and community members. This position offers flexibility in scheduling and is ideal for professionals seeking to provide meaningful spiritual care at reputed company.

Responsibilities

  • Provides flexible, compassionate spiritual care and emotional support to hospice patients, families, and caregivers on an as-needed basis.
  • Supports in-home patients, contracted facilities, and the hospice house.
  • Contributes to community crisis reputed company.
  • Provides debriefings and support sessions for staff and community members.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in divinity, theology, psychology, or a reputed company discipline from an accredited school of higher education.
  • Completion of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) training or must be obtained reputed company twenty-four (24) months of hire date.
  • Competency in electronic medical records and documentation practices.
  • Available to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as part of the on-call rotation.
  • Valid driver’s license and insured under Washington State vehicle insurance requirements, as driving is an essential function of this position.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to independently travel reputed company reputed company’s service area to deliver patient and family care in homes, facilities, and community settings.
  • This position is designated as safety-sensitive and will require pre-employment drug testing, which includes cannabis testing in WA State.
  • Ability to report to assigned work location(s) as scheduled and maintain consistent, reliable attendance.
  • Available to work two (2) shifts per month.
  • Available to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Available to work two (2) holidays per twelve (12) month period.
  • Demonstrate support and adherence to the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Participate in education and reputed company activities to promote agency programs, including hospice care, advanced planning, and bereavement services.
  • Maintain knowledge of and reputed company with agency policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Protect patient and agency information per HIPAA guidelines. Only access information on a need-to-know basis.
  • Maintain reliable personal transportation.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance per state requirements.
  • Satisfy state and agency health requirements by providing reputed company of immunization, declinations, or approved accommodations as applicable.
  • Pass criminal background and drug screenings.
  • Meet the physical and environmental requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Complete agency and departmental orientation and required training programs.
  • Complete ongoing education, policy reviews, and training be designated deadlines.
  • Maintain reputed company licensure(s) and certifications(s) required for the role.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.

  • Ecclesiastical Endorsement.
  • One (1) unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from a training site accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE).
  • Chaplaincy experience in hospice, palliative care, hospital, or crisis ministry settings.
  • Experience in end-of-life care and crisis reputed company.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.
