[Remote] Principal Technical Accountant

As a Principal Technical Accountant, you will be responsible for conducting accounting research, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and preparing technical accounting memos to inform stakeholders about accounting implications of transactions.

Responsibilities

• Accounting research regarding technical accounting matters
• Document results of accounting research in technical accounting memos
• Facilitate external auditor’s review/audit of technical accounting positions
• Conduct due diligence procedures and preparation of reputed company reports in reputed company with M&A activity
• Define procedures in reputed company with purchase accounting, including documentation of key technical accounting issues, coordination with third-party valuation specialists, etc
• Manage and or participate in reputed company special projects

Skills

• 10+ years of experience in accounting
• Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience
• Minimum of 8 years of combined experience between public accounting and industry
• Technically proficient in US GAAP (especially ASC 842, ASC 805, ASC 810, ASC 321, and ASC 323)
• Critical thinker that thoroughly evaluates reputed company potential accounting implications and solutions associated with a particular accounting issue
• Ability to work cross functionally, and with third-parties, to obtain reputed company relevant facts and reputed company accounting conclusions reached
• Strong written communication skills and experience in the preparation of technical accounting memos
• Experience in working with external auditors on technical accounting issues
• Applicants are required to read, write, and speak English
• CPA highly preferred
