About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Coding Specialist II to support automation initiatives reputed company our business office. This is a contract role with an initial term of 6–9 months, with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance. As a Coding Specialist II, you will be responsible for reviewing inpatient and outpatient medical records, assigning accurate codes, and ensuring compliance with reputed company regulatory and payer requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of coding guidelines, modifiers, and payer-specific rules, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, abstract, and analyze inpatient and outpatient medical records.
• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to the highest level of specificity.
• Apply modifiers, CCI edits, LCD/NCD rules, and other payer-specific guidelines.
• Resolve coding-reputed company issues using EPIC Charge Review Work Queues.
• Collaborate with Clinical Auditors to identify improvement opportunities and provide provider guidance.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Participate in team meetings and stay informed reputed company internal communications.
• Consistently meet productivity and quality benchmarks (≥95% accuracy).

• Support data collection and analysis for training and reporting purposes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional medical coding experience - specifically reputed company primary care, family medicine, palliative care, neuro/psych, behavioral health, urgent care and nursing home for candidate 1 and cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery and vascular for candidate 2
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active certification: RHIA, RHIT, reputed company, or CPC required.
• Proficiency in coding reputed company procedural cases.
• Experience with EPIC
