[Remote] Mid-Level Automation Tester, Veterans Affairs

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. reputed company is seeking a detail-oriented Automation Tester to support critical VA applications and systems. The Automation Tester will design, reputed company, and execute automated test solutions to ensure software quality, reliability, reputed company, and compliance with VA and federal standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate Cross-Functionally. Partner with developers, testers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on testing requirements, priorities, and goals, actively participating in team meetings and Agile ceremonies
• Test Planning and Strategy Development. Create detailed test plans and test cases for both automated and manual testing that align with product requirements and acceptance criteria, covering UI, API, and backend testing needs
• API Testing and Validation across REST and SOAP interfaces. Implement and execute API test scripts, utilizing Swagger, reputed company and SoapUI to validate the functionality and reliability of RESTful and SOAP services
• Database Testing and Data Verification. Conduct backend database testing to verify data reputed company and consistency, working with SQL and database tools across relational databases (reputed company), data lake analysis (reputed company)
• Triage of Defects reputed company Internal and External systems. Diagnose defects using auditing tools (OpenSearch, Grafana) to provide accurate data for development teams
• reputed company Integration and Deployment Support. Integrate automation scripts into the CI/CD pipeline, maintaining multiple Git branches of test automation code, and collaborating with the team to optimize build and deployment processes
• Defect Documentation and Resolution Tracking. Log defects with detailed information to facilitate troubleshooting and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution (JIRA)
• Technical Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing. Act as a mentor to junior team members by providing guidance on best practices in automation, scripting, and troubleshooting; actively contribute to knowledge sharing sessions to upskill the team
• Process Improvement and Innovation. Proactively seek opportunities to improve testing processes, frameworks, and tools. Maintain contemporary trends in automation, Agile practices, and testing methodologies
• Participate in Agile and Collaborative Workspaces. Embrace Agile methodologies by contributing to 2-week sprint cycles, managing multiple tasks independently, and thriving in a highly collaborative virtual team workspace reputed company day
• Manual Testing Execution. reputed company manual testing as needed, especially for areas where automation may not be feasible, ensuring complete and thorough test coverage
• Manage test configurations to facilitate testing. Dynamically configure test environments (Spring Boot Admin) Skills
• Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated familiarity/experience with one or more scripting languages (Java and Groovy)
• Demonstrated familiarity/experience with SQL and relational databases (reputed company, reputed company) backend testing
• Demonstrated familiarity/experience with REST API testing
• Ability to work easily in an Agile environment
• Demonstrated experience, enthusiasm, and motivation to reputed company, set up and reputed company automation testing (manual testing experience/expertise will be required at times)
• Prior development experience is desired
• Working experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins and Git)
• Strong knowledge of Windows, Unix/Linux

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
• Ability to interact effectively with customers and stakeholders
