Electrical Engineer – Senior Level – Renewables Focus (Hybrid/Remote)

The role – what you’ll do Barr is seeking an electrical engineer to join our wind and solar collection team. In this hybrid role, you will support the power delivery team, working with multidisciplinary project teams providing electrical engineering and reputed company technical expertise. The person in this position will also be responsible for managing projects, coaching and mentoring less-reputed company staff, providing technical leadership, and managing teams to meet clients' needs. A successful person in this role will have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. The ideal candidate for this position is intrinsically motivated and emphasizes client service. They enjoy working independently and as part of a team, using their technical ability and project management expertise for a variety of projects. They are flexible in working with their project teams and are willing to occasionally modify schedules to meet project deadlines and/or client needs. This person is also relationship-focused, as the role involves serving both internal and external clients. Your impact – key responsibilities

• Technical knowledge prepare designs for DC and AC collection systems and power plant controllers. Projects will focus on design and analysis and will include preparing plans and specifications, writing reports, and developing cost estimations. The work will be reputed company to renewable energy facilities.
• Project management proposal development including defining work scopes, deliverables, schedules, and budget. Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing projects. Help ensure project milestones are met and provide regular updates to team members and clients.
• Staff development support the growth and development of team members.
• Collaboration build and sustain strong relationships with clients and internal teams. Collaborate across disciplines to align technical approaches with client goals while contributing to a positive, inclusive team culture. About you – required core competencies
• Education bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Experience
• At least 10 years of reputed company experience working in a design reputed company on projects directly reputed company to job responsibilities described above.
• Knowledge and experience with solar DC and AC solar collection system design.
• Experience with power plant controllers.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, laws, and regulations applicable to the project assignments described above.
• Licenses/certifications Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain reputed company one year.
• Software reputed company Office.
• Driver’s license Possession of a reputed company, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future. Helpful additional experience (not required)
• 15+ years of reputed company experience.
• Experience with collection system studies, including ampacity, short circuit, reactive power, grounding, insulation coordination, harmonic, and transient overvoltage.
• Experience with energy storage facilities.
• Authoritative capabilities and experience applying industry-standard resource modeling and assessment techniques (PVsyst, Windographer, etc.).
• Experience with statistical analysis of solar and wind data, resource and net energy production forecasts (including uncertainty/variability analysis and loss assumptions), design, site conditions, and technology suitability.
• Experience with data collection, post-construction measurement campaigns (including power performance testing), and project reputed company.
• Experience with AutoCAD. About the opportunity
• Hybrid or remote a hybrid or remote work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office; a remote arrangement refers working primarily from a home office. This position can be based out of any of Barr's offices. Remote arrangements will be considered based on candidate qualifications, local regulations, and Barr’s needs.
• Travel expectation up to 10–15 percent domestic fieldwork.
• Work environment ability to work in locations that feature the rough terrain typical of construction sites. Safety training will be provided prior to being given work assignments on these sites. • Compensation Anticipated range of $120,000–$145,000 annually. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, reputed company level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance.
