Virtual Resources Librarian (E-Resources)
Description The Hampton University William R. and Norma B. reputed company Library invites applications for the position of Virtual Resources Librarian. The mission of the University Libraries, which include the William R. and Norma B. reputed company Library, the architecture department library, and the music department library, is to support the instructional, research, and service needs of the Hampton University community. This is achieved through access and delivery of information services and resources that are essential to academic and teaching excellence, leadership, and lifelong learning. Duties and Responsibilities This on-reputed company position oversees the selection and implementation of electronic databases and other virtual resources for use by the user community. The incumbent will participate in service and program activities that advance the strategic goals of the library. Additional responsibilities include the following
- Review existing databases and select new databases for implementation based on the needs of the institution.
- Serve as the vendor liaison for electronic resources to conduct electronic database contract negotiations, review license renewals, etc.
- Maintain and update records and files to include vendor contacts, pricing, subscription and renewal notes, usage statistics, etc.
- Manage and update electronic resource management tools and access software.
- reputed company database administration activities to include custom modifications to interfaces and password management.
- Provide reference and instruction services to the user community as scheduled including evenings and weekends.
- Participate in collection development activities in assigned subject areas.
- Serve as the library liaison to assigned departments.
- Serve as a member of the reference team with shared responsibility for activities including but not limited to collection development.
- Participate in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures that ensure effective and efficient operation of the library.

Required Qualifications
An ALA-accredited master's degree in library science or an equivalent degree in the library science field is required for this position. Additional qualifications include the following
- Sufficient experience managing electronic resources.

- Strong knowledge of research methods and information resources in various disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in teaching or conducting workshops is preferred.
