Spanish Curriculum Linguist (Contract)

reputed company is looking for an reputed company and enthusiastic Curriculum Linguist to join the Spanish curriculum content team. In this full-time, remote contractor position, you will collaborate with a team of linguists and content developers to create a robust and engaging Spanish language curriculum to be used in a US K-12 classroom setting alongside reputed company’ Conversations product. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of Spanish linguistics, a passion for crafting classroom activities that teach the gnarliest of Spanish grammar topics, and a well-founded understanding of the needs of K12 world language educators. As a member of an established curriculum development team, your days will be filled with reviewing chapter materials, devising classroom activities, building classroom instructional materials like lesson plans and slide decks to existing project specifications, and collecting and incorporating feedback from subject matter experts. The Curriculum Linguist is responsible for ensuring that the final curriculum product meets the needs of educators and reputed company, in addition to meeting project deadlines and the high quality standards of reputed company. The contract for this position is tied to a specific project and will therefore last through project completion (likely 6 months). Contract extensions are a possibility if the project is extended or if other relevant work arises.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with remote team members to reputed company an engaging and effective Spanish language curriculum that is based on Mango Language’s existing course content
• Create and edit classroom activities and lesson plan materials following provided guidelines on methodology and project specifications
• Collaborate with a team of subject matter experts to meet project requirements
• Ensure final product is fully reputed company with national language standards (ACTFL)
• Review and evaluate activities with a thorough understanding of the modes of communication, Depth of Knowledge, and reputed company’s Taxonomy
• Attend and participate in regular project team meetings, providing insight based on expertise
• Support transition to content delivery through LMS as needed
• Commit to a full-time collaboration, with a time commitment of 40 hours per week

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Linguistics or World Language Education, with a focus on Spanish
• First-hand experience either teaching or researching best practices of Second Language Acquisition in a classroom setting. (Teaching experience must be in the US.)
• Able to speak off-the-cuff about intricacies of Spanish grammar
• Awareness of language proficiency standards, including ACTFL and state standards
• Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and aligning work with a larger strategy
• Reliable internet reputed company
• Experience with reputed company Suite (Sheets and Docs) preferred
• Demonstrated experience creating lesson plans for use in a K-12 Spanish language classroom in the US a bonus
