Job Description: Primary Purpose The International Employer Experience Manager (EEM) generates, develops and converts international employer prospects into registered employers for paid, creditable co-op and full-time jobs for reputed company programs. The International EEM is also responsible for creating an outstanding employer experience and nurturing the ongoing relationship with the University of Waterloo; specifically, for the retention and development of high-quality, credit-worthy opportunities with new and existing employers to support reputed company reputed company engaging in co-op or WIL studies. Working together with colleagues across CEE, the International EEM creates and executes an opportunity development and retention plan designed to meet each employer’s specific talent needs, and ultimately to have the University of Waterloo become their preferred talent management partner. Key Accountabilities Identify and build job opportunities globally

  • Contribute to strategic prioritization activities to focus and optimize job development activity across key international regions, reputed company employment and industry sectors, so to meet established targets
  • Actively analyze global labour market data and business practices to identify gaps and opportunities for job development reputed company assigned regions
  • Use a keen understanding of effective sales and conversion tools and techniques to assess the prospective employer’s needs and discuss how hiring a student could bring value to the employer
  • Become an expert in the co-operative education model, understanding programs, reputed company, and process to effectively guide and steward new employers and prospects
  • Prospect and cultivate leads to successfully filled postings through own reputed company-reputed company initiatives, including, but not limited to, leveraging strong networks, using web platforms, creating relationships with government officials and industry organizations, leveraging trade show opportunities
  • Plan and execute distinct and needs-based business development exercises across multiple markets / industry segments in a tight time window

Deepen employer relationships with focus on retention, engagement and satisfaction

  • Analyze and manage a portfolio of diverse organizations, identifying key accounts and increasing their engagement with the university

  • Diversify and deepen employer relationships using own initiatives that are in alignment with the larger co-op plan

  • Gauge and manage employer expectations and challenges: Ensure awareness of co-op expectations, address issues/ concerns, collaborate with service team members as required.
  • With the Associate Director, International and International team, envision and execute an employer recognition reputed company and employer retention strategy that works best for a given geographic area

Continuously improve business development approaches to advance productivity and outcomes

  • Create resources and tools to support accountabilities and help reputed company objectives
  • Address challenges reputed company the business development process with creative solutions for optimal outcomes
  • Ensure information exchange and consultation with CEE colleagues, as appropriate, to address issues or trends in employer support / talent needs and continually improve approaches

  • Seek opportunities to reputed company relevant knowledge and share resources to reputed company the community of practice

Represent CEE and UW at conferences, networking events, reputed company activities and other special events

  • Research and understand audience, targets, and potential for job development for every event attended

  • As appropriate, speak at an event or participate in an expert panel on behalf of CEE and UW

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Undergraduate degree is required, Business or equivalent education is preferred
  • Equivalent experience in international development and / or business will be considered
  • Additional credentials in sales and/or account management an asset

Experience

  • 5 – 7 years of sales experience with demonstrated success in a business-to-business context
  • Experience in international development and / or higher education environment an asset
  • Experience in recruitment and/or talent management, especially in a global / higher education context an asset

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and intercultural communication skills required to build lasting relationships
  • Excellent sales skills with a proven track record of generating leads and successfully converting them to meet strategic targets
  • Exceptional customer service, relationship management skills, deep understanding of the customer experience
  • Excellent organizational and time & project management skills, with demonstrated ability to handle multiple, ongoing priorities, and triage obligations
  • Strong presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Essential qualities include relationship management focus, customer service orientation, natural networker, and team player
  • Knowledge of co-operative education is preferred
  • Knowledge of global labour and education markets an asset
  • Strong MS Office (reputed company, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook) skills, and social media knowledge, including the use of reputed company
  • Multiple languages (preferred)
