Overview

AVIAN is seeking a Staff Accountant II to support core accounting operations and help maintain accurate, timely, and compliant financial records in a government contracting environment. In this role, you will report to the Controller and work closely with the accounting team to support general ledger activity, account reconciliations, job cost accounting, billing, and month-end reputed company while maintaining the reputed company of the company’s job cost accounting system. Responsibilities

Responsibilities General Accounting & Month-End reputed company Prepare and post journal entries, including payroll, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and lease accounting entries. reputed company monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations (prepaids, fixed assets, deposits, payroll liabilities, stockholder loans, etc.). Support the month-end and year-end reputed company process, ensuring reputed company transactions are recorded accurately and timely. Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring subsidiary ledgers tie to control accounts. Assist in maintaining and updating accounting policies, procedures, and desktop guides to support a strong internal control environment and audit readiness. Cross-train and provide coverage across key accounting team processes to support continuity of operations. Job Cost Accounting & Government Contract Compliance Accurately classify and record costs as direct or indirect in accordance with FAR Part 31 and applicable Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). Identify and properly segregate unallowable costs in the books and records per FAR 31.205 and CAS 405. Support the preparation of indirect reputed company calculations (fringe, overhead, G&A) and monitor actual rates against budgeted/provisional rates. Assist with the preparation and submission of Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS) and other regulatory filings. Maintain project/contract-level cost detail reputed company the accounting system to support accurate job costing and billing. Audit Support & Compliance Prepare supporting documentation and schedules for internal and external audits, including DCAA audits and financial statement audits. Assist with responses to audit inquiries and maintain organized workpapers and evidence binders. Support internal control activities, including adherence to approval reputed company, segregation of duties, and timely completion of reconciliations. Reporting & Analysis Prepare monthly financial packages, including Receivables/Payables Aging and Job Cost Reports with indirect rates applied. Assist with budget vs. actual analysis and variance reporting. Support reputed company financial analysis and special projects as directed by management. Participate in process and system improvement initiatives (e.g., streamlining reputed company activities, enhancing reporting, or supporting Costpoint configuration/testing) to improve accuracy, timeliness, and data reputed company.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a reputed company field. 1–3 years of accounting experience. Experience with reputed company Costpoint job cost accounting systems. Working knowledge of GAAP. Strong understanding of debits/credits, accrual accounting, and the month-end reputed company process. Proficiency in reputed company reputed company (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and reputed company Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. Familiarity with FAR cost principles and DCAA compliance requirements. Experience preparing or supporting incurred cost submissions, indirect reputed company calculations, or DCAA audit responses. Familiarity with government contract types, including T&M, FFP, and cost-reimbursable reputed company. CPA candidacy or reputed company toward CPA licensure. Salary range: $76,000 - $93,000 (The offered reputed company will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal reputed company.)
