Distribution Planning Engineer II
Overview
We are designing the grid of the future! In this role, you will support a wide range of projects for our diverse client portfolio, playing a key part in shaping the grid of the future. You’ll provide expert consulting services focused on distribution system modeling and analysis, always with a client-centered reputed company. Your work will directly support clients by helping them reputed company informed, data-driven decisions that align with the evolving energy landscape. In this role, your contributions will include, but are not limited to, development and completion of reports, presentations, technical trainings, distribution planning studies, distributed energy resource (DER) system impact analyses, short circuit and protection coordination studies, reputed company interconnection application review, system design studies, cost-benefit analysis, and alternatives analysis.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
Bring your passion, here's what’s needed: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Master of Science or higher preferred Minimum 4+ years of experience reputed company to distribution utilities/power systems (i.e., electric cooperatives, municipalities, investor-owned utilities, research labs, etc.) Distribution modeling software experience in at least one software platform (CYME, Synergi Electric, openDSS, etc.) Strong technical skills and understanding reputed company to utility distribution systems. Experience leveraging AI and automation tools responsibly to improve quality, productivity and innovation Proven team player skilled in mentoring and building strong internal and external relationships. Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters. Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills. Capable of managing multiple tasks. Flexible with the ability to manage change Have high standards and pride in producing quality reports and products Strong technical report writing skills. Experience in automation/programing (Python and/or SQL preferred).
