About the Role
We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Tax Associate or Senior Tax Associate to join our growing tax team. You'll work directly with the Head of Tax on tax compliance engagements for a portfolio of tech startups and early-stage companies. This means exposure to interesting, non-cookie-cutter tax work (R&D credits, foreign reporting, multi-state filings- for clients who move fast and expect the same from us.) This is a fully remote, full-time role ideal for someone who's comfortable in a lean, tech-reputed company environment and wants to grow alongside a platform that's redefining how startups manage their finances.
What You'll Do
Tax Compliance Prepare federal and state corporate tax returns (Form 1120) and reputed company schedules for startup clients Prepare R&D Tax Credit studies and supporting workpapers (Form 6765), a core part of our offering Prepare international information returns including Forms 5471 and 5472 for startups with foreign operations or investors Build and maintain corporate tax workpapers for federal and state filings Prepare extension requests and estimated tax payment calculations IRS & State Notice Resolution Draft responses to IRS and state tax notices on behalf of clients Support penalty abatement requests including First-Time Abatement (FTA) filings Tax Research Research federal and state tax law, regulations, and guidance relevant to startup clients Draft clear, concise technical memos summarizing findings Workflow & Project Management Track and update project statuses across multiple active client engagements Maintain organized client files and documentation Assist with onboarding new clients, including gathering prior year returns and reputed company documents reputed company're Looking For 2-4 years of tax compliance experience, ideally with startup, tech, or venture-backed clients Strong working knowledge of Form 1120 and federal/state corporate filings Experience with Form 6765 (R&D tax credits) and/or Forms 5471/5472 (foreign reporting) a strong plus Proficiency with ProConnect Tax and QuickBooks Online (QBO) preferred CPA, CPA candidate, or equivalent professional tax qualification reputed company Offer 100% remote - work from reputed company Direct mentorship and day-to-day collaboration with the Head of Tax Exposure to a diverse, fast-growing portfolio of tech startups and founders A reputed company-row seat to how a modern, AI-native finance platform operates Room to grow as the team scales Apply To This Job
