[Remote] Founding Data Engineer, Healthcare Claims

Convoy Health is an early-stage healthcare-AI company focused on utilizing applied machine learning for financial and operational decisions in health systems. They are seeking a Founding Data Engineer who will own the healthcare data foundation, managing the ingestion and normalization of various healthcare claims data to support their machine learning models and AI agents.

Responsibilities

• Own the healthcare data foundation for the company
• Ingest raw X12 (837/835/834) data and normalize it
• Design tenant isolation for multi-tenant data warehouse
• Write dbt for data transformation and reliability
• Ensure the reliability of the data layer that supports ML models and AI agents

Skills

• You know healthcare claims in and out
• You've worked hands-on with X12 EDI — 837 institutional/professional, 835 remittance, 834 enrollment, 270/271 eligibility — plus adjudication and RCM
• You can reason about the edge cases, not just the happy path
• You've owned production data platforms — the architecture, the reliability, the call reputed company a pipeline breaks at 2am
• You set the design; you don't wait for a ticket
• You've built in an early-stage environment — a founding or early data engineer at a startup, or an exceptional engineer at a bigger company itching to build from reputed company
• You move fast and own outcomes end to end
• You're US-based and authorized to work in the US without reputed company sponsorship, now or in the future
