[Remote] Freelance Public Relations Consultant

The role involves managing media relations, developing story angles, and securing media placements for client accounts in the B2B technology landscape.
Responsibilities
- You'll manage day-to-day media relations for accounts in the AI and cybersecurity space, including developing and pitching story angles to relevant trade, business, and tech press
- Building and maintaining relationships with journalists and editors who cover enterprise tech, security, and AI
- Securing earned media placements and tracking coverage
- Drafting press materials such as pitches, briefing documents, and Q&A prep
- Advising clients on positioning and narrative within fast-moving technical categories
- And monitoring industry news to identify timely commentary or newsjacking opportunities
Skills
- Strong existing relationships with journalists covering AI, cybersecurity, enterprise software, or deep tech
- Demonstrated track record of securing media hits for B2B technology companies
- Solid understanding of the AI and cybersecurity landscape, including key players, terminology, and current narratives
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling, press-ready stories
- Comfort working independently with minimal oversight
- Strong written communication skills
- Prior experience with deep tech or technical B2B clients (agency or in-house)
