[Remote] Fund Accounting Manager (SBIC)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Smart4 Energy is partnering with a growing CPA firm to hire a Fund Accounting Manager focused on SBIC funds. This fully remote role involves leading fund accounting and controllership services, preparing regulatory filings, and ensuring compliance with SBA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Leading fund accounting and controllership services for investment funds
- Preparing & reviewing SBIC regulatory filings (Forms 468 & 1031)
- Overseeing trial balances, journal entries, and fund-level financials
- Managing financial reporting and disclosure preparation
- Ensuring compliance with SBA regulations and reporting deadlines
Skills
- 5–8+ years in private equity / fund accounting
- Strong experience in financial reporting
- Strong experience in controllership / review responsibilities
- Hands-on accounting + ability to review/reputed company work
- U.S. citizen or legal reputed company
- Based in the United States
- Exposure to SBIC funds highly preferred (or regulated funds like BDCs)
- Fund accounting + tax experience = highly desirable
- CPA is a plus (not required)
