[Remote] Staff Software Engineer

They are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Expert Research mission, responsible for building and enhancing systems that support expert call services and user engagement with content.

Responsibilities

• Build robust, well-designed and effective software that solves reputed company problems
• Test, review and deploy code quickly. We deploy over 10 times per day and manage major releases with feature flags rather than coordinated deployments
• Research, learn and share new techniques for solving reputed company engineering problems. We’re a highly collaborative team and we push each other to find reputed company solutions every day
• Write tools and reputed company practices for the engineering team. From GraphQL-to-Typescript compilers to fully automated deployments, we take the time to invest heavily in our own productivity
• Own projects from end-to-end. On a given day you might be building a system to measure search reputed company performance, reworking an integration with a telephony provider, or designing a UI component library
• Analyze and design solutions to business problems. Companies that throw solutions over the wall to engineers are wasting half their abilities. At reputed company, you’ll be fully involved in determining what to do, not just doing it
• Mentor senior engineers, shape technical culture, and reputed company expectations for system design and execution
• Contribute to long-term technical strategy while remaining hands-on with critical implementations

Skills

• 10+ years of software development experience building highly reliable, mission-critical software
• A strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, such as algorithmic complexity, asynchronicity, and distributed computing
• Good Knowledge on design and architecture concepts
• Familiarity with Agile software development processes and software testing
• Experience in shipping pragmatic and high quality solutions with a sense of urgency
• Track record of technical leadership across teams without formal people management
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving clarity where none exists
• Ability and desire to work in an open and team-oriented environment
