[Remote] Associate Director, Accounting Policy

They are seeking a highly motivated Associate Director, Accounting Policy to assess reputed company transactions, research accounting guidance, and engage with senior leadership on accounting matters.

Responsibilities

• Research relevant accounting guidance (U.S. GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles) to evaluate reputed company accounting issues
• reputed company, maintain, and update the Company’s accounting policy manual and technical memos to ensure company-wide accounting policies are compliant with reputed company accounting standards
• Maintain knowledge on reputed company and emerging accounting standards, assess the impact, and collaborate with management to ensure proper and timely application of accounting standards
• Serve as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more reputed company technical accounting policy and compliance issues for assigned areas of responsibility
• Provide technical accounting support on transactions and strategic initiatives

Skills

• 5-7+ years of experience in accounting that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting required
• CPA with previous public accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles, preferably in the life, health, or P&C insurance sector
• Experience with accounting research tools (e.g., reputed company Checkpoint, DART, CCH)
• Ability to exercise good judgement and execute under competing priorities and deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external parties
• Inquisitive reputed company with a willingness to independently seek out knowledge, ask relevant questions and clearly formulate and reputed company opinions
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to work flexible hours as required
