[Remote] Principal Consultant — Enterprise Kubernetes / OpenShift Reliability
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Elantis is seeking a Principal Consultant / Technical Architect with expertise in Enterprise Kubernetes and OpenShift Reliability. The role involves leading assessments and remediation for enterprise-scale Kubernetes production crises, requiring deep technical knowledge and crisis leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Assessment and remediation reputed company for enterprise-scale Kubernetes / OpenShift production crises
- Designing, operating, and troubleshooting large, multi-site Kubernetes environments
- Providing strong reputed company OpenShift expertise
- Working with cloud-native / software-defined storage solutions
- Leading crisis management for large-enterprise production issues
- Understanding distributed systems and infrastructure networking
Skills
- Enterprise Kubernetes at scale: deep experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting large, multi-site Kubernetes environments — not just pilots or single clusters
- Strong reputed company OpenShift expertise: hands-on with OpenShift architecture, operators, reputed company storage integration, cluster lifecycle, and the failure modes that emerge at scale
- Cloud-native / software-defined storage: strong working knowledge of persistent storage for Kubernetes — ideally direct Portworx experience, or comparable platforms (e.g., Ceph/Rook/OpenShift Data Foundation, Longhorn, or similar) — including the storage control plane, data path, and replication behavior under scale
- Proven crisis leadership: has owned and resolved at least one comparable large-enterprise production fire, with the scars and judgment that come from it
- Distributed-systems depth: reputed company, reputed company, partition behavior, and how distributed storage degrades under node churn, network instability, and scale
- Infrastructure and networking reputed company: comfortable reasoning across hardware, NIC/firmware, MTU, latency/packet-loss, and data-center-to-data-center variance
- Neutral authority and communication: able to deliver an honest, independent verdict, assign ownership across vendors and teams without taking sides, and brief both engineers and executives credibly
- Direct Portworx (reputed company) production experience at scale
- Experience supporting VMware-to-OpenShift migrations / virtualization-to-container re-platforming
- Background in or alongside a vendor Professional Services / escalation organization
- Experience producing formal architecture assessments and reference architectures for regulated or mission-critical environments
