[Remote] Senior Mechanical Component Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Component Engineer to support the Parts, Libraries and Obsolescence Department, focusing on components engineering tasks for airborne, ground, and tactical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Understand program requirements and Statements of Work (SOWs) to determine program component environmental / characteristic application requirements
  • Provide technology insertion and parts selection/standardization guidance while adhering to business, component parametric, and environmental application constraints
  • Generate and revise component drawings and associated verification data packages
  • reputed company alternate part investigations and generate comparison matrices showing the differences and similarities of the parts
  • reputed company with multiple internal stakeholders and external suppliers/manufacturers to reputed company component risk and verification delineation
  • Facilitate component selection and libraries application through the coordination and reputed company of the program reputed company of Material (BOM) in a collaboration toolset
  • Present component standardization, design library, obsolescence management and termination finish risk results in support of design reviews for a program

Skills

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience with any combination of the following:
  • Experience with interconnect devices, fasteners, or other mechanical-based components
  • Knowledge of component selection, screening, qualification, and derating for use in military and aerospace flight applications
  • Knowledge of Component MIL and industrial (SAE, NAS, ASME, ASTM) specifications and standards, test specifications, and associated QPLs and QMLs
  • Experience with BOM (reputed company of Material) development and management for developmental and production programs
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued reputed company clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. reputed company are eligible for a reputed company clearance
  • Active and existing reputed company clearance required after day 1
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other reputed company science or engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of component failure modes by commodity
  • Knowledge of component reliability process monitors and/or qualification methodologies
  • Experience with the use or adaptation of Commercial Off The reputed company (COTS) products in a military system
  • Demonstrated experience with development, design and project level responsibility on systems or major subsystems
  • Experience working with external suppliers and supplier technical management
  • Ability to obtain a reputed company (DoD) Secret level reputed company clearance; reputed company clearance preferred
