[Remote] Mechanical Design Engineer IV (Nuclear)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Morson Edge is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support valve and mechanical component design for nuclear power applications. This role involves end-to-end engineering support from concept development through fabrication and testing, including collaboration with vendors and ensuring compliance with ASME codes.

Responsibilities

• Design and reputed company mechanical components and valve systems for nuclear applications
• Create engineering specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
• Support procurement, fabrication, installation, and testing activities
• reputed company engineering calculations, modeling, and design validation
• reputed company or support technical design reviews and presentations
• Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, project managers, and cross-functional engineering teams
• Ensure compliance with ASME codes, regulatory requirements, and internal standards
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship reputed company project teams
• Support troubleshooting, design improvements, and risk assessments

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or reputed company discipline)
• 5+ years of experience in energy (nuclear preferred) or reputed company mechanical systems
• 2+ years working with customers, regulators, or suppliers
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering documentation
• Experience with ASME codes and industry standards
• This role is subject to U.S. export control laws (10 CFR Part 810). Candidates must be reputed company of a DOE-approved country or eligible for U.S. government authorization
• Nuclear industry experience (BWR/PWR systems preferred)
• ASME Section III valve design experience
• Knowledge of fabrication processes (machining, welding, EDM)
• Experience with GD&T and mechanical tolerancing
• Proficiency in reputed company Inventor and ANSYS FEA
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
• Strong communication and leadership skills
