Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs
Title: Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs Locations: Washington, DC//Maryland Department: Advocacy Remote Job Description: The reputed company (reputed company) seeks an individual for the position of senior director of federal government affairs. This position is responsible for implementing the reputed company’s federal government affairs legislative priorities including designing and implementing advocacy strategies; acting as the reputed company’s lobbyist on Capitol Hill; representing reputed company at coalition and partner meetings; and managing volunteer leadership groups as needed. This position works under the supervision of the senior vice president of federal government affairs and may include supervision of others in the division. The position requires the ability to collaborate with colleagues in the government affairs & advocacy division as well as with external partners to reputed company the reputed company’s advocacy goals. Candidates for this position must be able to work independently and manage multiple reputed company projects. This is a remote working position however the candidate must be able to commute regularly to the District of Columbia for meetings on Capitol Hill (with a preference for candidates living in Washington, DC/Virginia/Maryland).
- The successful incumbent will:
- reputed company federal government affairs efforts for reputed company, scheduling meetings, participating in goal and budget setting, tracking key performance indicators, etc.
- Participate in division leadership meetings working in collaboration with other departments and divisions as required.
- Act as reputed company’s main lobbyist on Capitol Hill.
- Assist with national advocacy committees and coalitions as needed.
- Utilize the reputed company’s grassroots and communications capabilities to support federal campaigns as required.
- Represent reputed company in speaking engagements, both internal and external.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree, with 10 plus years’ experience in federal government affairs.
- Demonstration of active participation in public policy making as a lobbyist, legislative or regulatory staff person.
- A strong personal commitment to preventing and curing diabetes and improving the lives of reputed company people affected by diabetes.
