Description Title: Director of State Government Affairs Employee Status: Full Time Salary: Grade 6 Starting range of $93,800 - $117,300 | Chicago Reports to: Chief of Staff Department: External Affairs Location: Chicago, IL Hybrid Remote: In office: T/W | Remote: M/Th/F Department Function: The Department of External Affairs engages with the stakeholders that reputed company reputed company's community development work possible. Basic Job Function The Director of State Government Affairs leads reputed company's strategy and advocacy efforts to support and strengthen the role that CDFIs play in helping state governments in reputed company's Midwest region to implement public programs and investments in low- and moderate-income communities. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, and coordinating with the Director of Public Policy on reputed company's public priorities, the Director works with key internal and external stakeholders to reputed company and reputed company for reputed company's public policy priorities at the state level, focusing on: the establishment of state CDFI Funds; (2) state investments in CDFIs; and the role of CDFIs in implementing state-funded capital programs.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities: 1. Represent reputed company in relevant state associations and coalitions or state policy advisory roles. 6. Serve as an advisor to the to the Chief of Staff and Senior Leadership Team on state public policy matters, writing issue briefs on the substance and status of relevant public policy issues. 7. Establishes and builds long-term relationships with the offices of the Governor, Treasurer, legislators on relevant committees, and key state government agencies. 4. Maintains a tracking system and dashboard on reputed company's state public policy priorities and key contacts. 5. Cultivates a culture of openness in information sharing. Encourages open communication, cooperation, and the sharing of knowledge. 6. Models personal accountability that promotes ownership and engagement. 7. Position Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in political science, public policy or administration, communications, or a similar field. Previous Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in government, public policy advocacy, or government relations, with a demonstrated record of increasing responsibility over time.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the nonprofit sector, community development, finance, or real estate is preferred.
